Siding Services in Connecticut

Most siding calls are one of two things: a house that has faded, cracked or warped past the point of paint, or a homeowner who wants a different house without moving. Here is what we install.

Storm-Damaged Siding

Hail and wind hit the walls as hard as the roof. Vinyl cracks where hail lands, panels unlock and blow off in a gust, and the damage on the north wall never matches the south.

Siding Materials We Install

Vinyl, composite, cedar, and James Hardie fiber cement, installed to fit your home, your budget, and your street.

Gray-green home with white trim and a covered front porch

Vinyl Siding

Low maintenance and budget friendly, in a wide range of colors and profiles. We install several vinyl brands, and our preferred line, Norandex, carries a limited lifetime transferable warranty with fade protection.

Gray home with white trim and a three-car garage

Composite Siding

Engineered wood look with strong durability and warranty coverage. A middle ground between vinyl and natural cedar.

Two-story tan home with new vinyl siding and a brick chimney

Cedar Siding

Natural wood with real character for classic New England homes, available in clapboard and shake profiles.

James Hardie Siding

Fiber cement built for tough weather, with a wood-grain look that holds paint and resists rot, fire, and pests. We install the full James Hardie line.

Colors, Profiles and What Holds Up in Connecticut

Grey is the color Southington homeowners ask us about most, and it is a good answer here. It hides road dust and pollen, pairs with white or black trim, and reads as modern or classic depending on the profile you put it in.

Choosing a Profile

Clapboard. The traditional horizontal lap in a 4 or 5 inch exposure. Right on almost every Connecticut colonial and cape.

Dutch lap. A beveled top edge that throws a shadow line and hides a wavy wall better than flat clapboard.

Board and batten. Vertical boards with a raised strip over each joint. The farmhouse look, and a good choice on gables and additions.

Shake and shingle. Staggered or straight-edge, in vinyl or cedar, for a shoreline look or an accent gable.

Color. Vinyl color goes all the way through the panel, so a scratch does not show. Our preferred Norandex line carries fade protection on dark colors, which is what makes charcoal and dark grey practical on a south-facing wall. James Hardie comes factory-painted with a 15-year finish warranty.

New Siding Without Waiting for the Savings Account

Epic Exteriors replaces and installs siding across central Connecticut. We do not patch panels. Financing is available with monthly payment plans, and most decisions come back the same day. It begins with a free estimate.

Siding, Gutters and Windows in One Project

The walls, the windows in them and the gutters above them come off and go back on in a sequence. Doing them together costs less than doing them one at a time.

Siding FAQ

No. We inspect it for free and tell you what it needs, and when that is new siding on one elevation or the whole house, we install it. A few replacement panels on a faded wall never match, and a patch on hail damage is what the next storm finds first.

Yes, and it is the color we install most. It hides pollen and road dust, works with white, black or wood-tone trim, and with a fade-protected line like Norandex a dark grey stays dark on a south-facing wall.

Vinyl for the lowest cost and zero upkeep. James Hardie fiber cement for the most authentic wood look, fire resistance and a factory finish that holds for 15 years. Composite sits between them in price and look. We bring samples of all three and tell you what suits the house and the street.

Aluminum was the standard before vinyl. It dents, chalks and eventually needs paint. Modern vinyl is thicker, the color runs through it, and it does not dent. We replace a lot of aluminum with vinyl. We do not install new aluminum siding.

Three days to a week for most homes, depending on size, how much trim there is and what we find behind the old siding. The house is never left open. Each elevation is wrapped before the crew leaves for the day.

The square footage of wall, the material and profile, how much trim and how many windows and corners, whether the old siding has to come off, and what the sheathing looks like underneath. One price covers all of it.

If hail or wind caused it, usually yes, minus your deductible. Age and fading are not covered. We document the damage elevation by elevation and work with your adjuster. The process is on our storm damage page.

Yes, on every full replacement. Old felt or torn wrap is where water gets to the sheathing. New house wrap, taped seams and flashing at every window and door go on before a single panel does.

Usually. If the profile is still made we match it exactly. If it has been discontinued we tell you, and the usual fix is to re-side that elevation so it matches from the street.
